The Academy of Biomedical Sciences opened a state-of-the-art facility in August 2014. Students gain in-depth knowledge of the human body, disease mechanisms, major biological themes, and other topics related to biomedical science. The academy engages students in "real-world" experiences through a rigorous, inquiry-based curriculum. They also learn from and work with leaders in the biomedical community by way of guest presenters, teachers, field trips, and mentorships The academy is an extended day program where students attend school from 8:00 am-4:00 pm. Admission is based on a lottery system of applications submitted by students entering grade 7 from both John Wallace and Martin Kellogg Middle Schools.
